Students made clearly different growth by age groups. Children under 7 had the least growth of all age groups. It appears that the older a student is the more this reading system can help them. This would be expected for two reasons. First, the older the student the larger the discrepancy in "reading years" possible and second, it was expected that older students would developmentally fit this group better. Older students would have been exposed to more reading instruction also as well as be more likely to be "more" years below grade level.
Based on a careful analysis of the above data, Neuro-Learning Systems is able to offer a guarantee of growth in all age groups except the youngest (7 years and younger). We feel, at this time, that students seven and under may benefit from other reading programs. Although we will not decline service to students in this age group, we are currently unable to offer any guarantees. Guarantees are unheard of in the field of education. Although some tutoring programs offer free sessions if a student does not advance, it is beyond our understanding as to why someone would want more of something that is not working.
